Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

This policy explains what personal information ComicBookStores.ca (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’re an independent Canadian website, and we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors in Quebec, Quebec’s private-sector privacy law (Law 25).

2. Advertising

We show ads to keep the site free. Our ad management partner is Journey by Mediavine. Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and, where you allow it, show ads based on your interests. Learn more in the Mediavine privacy centre and the list of Mediavine ad partners.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at YourAdChoices.ca, optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. You’ll still see ads, but they may be less relevant.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use:

When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work.

4. How we use information

We don’t sell your personal information.

5. Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our web host, email provider, analytics and advertising partners), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users. Some of these providers are outside Canada, including in the United States, so your information may be processed there and be subject to those countries’ laws.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Typically, that means correspondence for up to two years and account data until you delete your account, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to its use. Email info@comicbookstores.ca, and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

8. Children

The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, to protect personal information. No website is completely secure, though.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date shows the latest version.
